What’s happening when?
The size and scale of Googong means the township’s development is a long-term project and ten years of technical studies, community consultation and investigations have already gone into the planning.
The township will evolve as a series of neighbourhoods over 20 to 25 years and when completed will have approximately 5,550 dwellings and be home to an estimated 16,000 people.
In early 2012 we intend to commence a staged release of our first neighbourhood. This will be coordinated with the provision of services and infrastructure. We will be commencing civil works at Googong in the first half of 2012, with the first housing construction commencing in the second half of that year. Our first residents should be moving in around mid 2013.
A café, general store, parks and community clubhouse will be established before the first residents move in. This will ensure the community’s social fabric is established early, and will afford residents an immediate sense of belonging.
