It’s no exaggeration to say that Googong is a vision come to life. The team behind the project has included urban planners, water engineers, sustainability experts and transport planners.
There have been months of public consultation, extensive environmental studies and a close working relationship with Queanbeyan City Council and the NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure to make sure the ground work for all aspects of this township have been carefully considered before the first sod is turned.
Nestled in a picturesque site surrounded by the Molonglo Ranges and the Googong Dam Foreshores, Googong will be just 20 minutes from the centre of Canberra. Our plan is that many of the 16,000 people who will eventually live here will also go to school, go to work and spend much of their recreation time within the town itself.
Of course, it won’t happen overnight. But we’re inviting you to join in the adventure of creating something new, and building a lifestyle that’s relaxed, socially rewarding and sustainable.
