Googong’s water treatment system will reduce water consumption by about 60%.
Schools
Growing with the community
At Googong, we have made provision for two secondary and two primary schools.
An accessible, co-educational, low fee and open entry primary school has already been confirmed for Googong and will be built by the Anglican Church. The school will welcome students from all of Googong's catchment areas, including Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra and Canberra.
We have provided a site free of charge to the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn, so the Diocese can build and operate the school. The first stage is expected to be completed and open to students for the start of the 2015 school year, with construction to be complete by about 2020. Enquires may be directed to the Diocesan Schools' Council on 02 6247 7205 or email dsccg@mac.com.
We will be providing either money or land for the NSW Department of Education to secure two public school sites within the Googong township. It is expected that these will be developed as a primary school and a combined primary/secondary school. A site for a private secondary school has also been identified and will be made available for purchase by a private school operator.
Early childhood education and day care will not be neglected. The community centre in our first neighbourhood will be available for play groups and we are keen to establish a child care facility in the early days of the community.
