Your Life At Googong
Growing with the community
At Googong, we have made provision for two secondary and two primary schools.
The Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn operates The Anglican School Googong, which will become an early learning to year 12 school within the first neighbourhood at Googong. The school welcomed its first students in 2015, and has now grown to over 100 students from ELC (Pre-School) to Year 5. The junior school will continue to grown one year level at a time over the coming years; while the senior school commenced with Year 7 in 2018, and will roll out a year at a time thereafter with the first Year 12 cohort to graduate in 2023. The Anglican School Googong is co-educational and open entry, and welcomed students from all Googong’s catchment areas, including Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra and Canberra. For further details visit the school's website at GoogongSchool.nsw.edu.au and any enquiries may be directed to the school via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
We have gifted a site for a public primary school and a site for a public secondary school to the NSW Government. The proposed public primary site is located adjacent to the Village Centre in Googong North, and will be the first of these schools to be built. The NSW Government announced funding and planning approval for the primary school in June 2018. We are working with NSW Department of Education to get an understanding on when this will be completed, and will post this information on our website as soon as we can.
We’ll also be providing early childhood education and day care options for the township. The Anglican School has an early learning facility for children from 2.5 years. The new Googong North Village Centre will include a childcare facility. For mothers of very little ones, mothers’ groups are already meeting in Club Googong and walking pram groups meet weekly.
