Introducing Googong

Infrastructure

The best of everything

We want to make sure Googong is a great place to live. So, in addition to the all the local streets and utility services you’d expect, we’re spending an additional $283 million to increase Googong’s amenity.

What’s in the first neighbourhood?

Googong’s very first residents already enjoy many benefits. The following amenities are already in place, and more are set to become reality with each passing month.

  • The Anglican School Googong opened in 2015 and currently takes students from Early Learning to year four. They are taking enrolments now for year seven students to commence in 2018. Construction and enrolments will continue to grow each year till the school evenutally goes through to year 12.

  • Upgraded local approach roads to benefit both Googong and the Queanbeyan region.

  • A purpose-built water and sewerage system to deliver recycled water to every home for toilet flushing and garden watering, as well as providing irrigation for parks and open spaces.

  • Club Googong with its heated, indoor 25m swimming pool, outdoor kids’ splash deck, tennis courts, gym, café and general store.

  • Eight local playgrounds are currently open, including an all-abilitiies playground.

  • Rockley Oval and Duncan Fields already host cricket, Aussie Rules, soccer and league games.

  • A dog park for four-legged residents and their two-legged owners to enjoy (and another even larger dog park will open in the second half of 2017).

  • Gas, fibre to the home and mobile phone coverage make cutting-edge tech and modern convenience par for the course in Googong.

  • Established network of walking paths to make feet a preferred mode of transport.

  • Googong North Village Centre is currently under construction and will open later in 2017 with a supermarket, a cafe and bar, allied health services, specialty retail, a community centre, gym and childcare centre.
